Would you like to model your project from an existing plan ? Simply import it and scale it up.
INSERT AN EXISTING PLAN
-
From the starter screen
It is possible to create a plan with the help of an existing plan in .JPG, .GIF or .PNG format with a maximum size of 2500 PX and a maximum weight of 1 MB.
Tip : if your plans are in PDF format, there are free online conversion solutions to transform them into JPEG.
Importing a construction or an architectural plan allows you to put it in transparency in the modeling space. This creates a background on which you can draw your walls. To do this, import your plan by clicking on the frame for this purpose.
You can then drop or select your plan from the "Import Plan" window:
-
From the modeling space
It is possible to add a background plan at any time from the modeling area. From the toolbar, please click on the "add sketch" logo.
Just follow the same steps as for importing a plan from the starter screen.
MANAGE THE DISPLAY OF THE EXISTING PLAN
Warning : it is essential to scale the existing plan to get the correct dimensions.
A green arrow appears at the bottom of your plan, which is useful for scaling your plan. The software needs a reference value in order to calculate other distances or surfaces.
By clicking on the ends, move the arrow over a wall (or an existing measurement) in your plan, end to end. In the box in the middle of the arrow, enter the actual size of the wall (or existing measurement) you have chosen. This will allow for scaling between the downloaded plan and the plan you are going to draw over it.
If the reference wall on your imported plan is 500 cm long, enter 500 in the arrow box.
Warning : It is possible to change the scale of the existing plan at any time, but it is not possible to scale the model.
You can then change the following settings:
- file name
- the visibility of the file level by level or on all floors
- the opacity of your plan in the background
Confirm your modifications.
You can now draw your walls on the imported plan.
DELETE / DISABLE AN EXISTING PLAN
While you are plotting, you can hide the imported plan, but you can also delete it when you have finished plotting the plan.
To hide the existing plan : in the toolbar at the top of your map, click on ADD/MANAGE A PLAN. Then click on the eye to hide the reference plane.
To remove the existing plan : in the toolbar at the top of your map, click on ADD/MANAGE A PLAN. Then click on the bin to delete the plan. All that remains are the walls you have just drawn.
To change the scale and settings again, click on your file name (the oval above). They appear again and can be changed.
