Welcome to this tutorial that will guide you through the process of creating a driveway in Kazaplan, allowing you to model your home in 2D and 3D with ease. Kazaplan offers you the flexibility to design your house, its gardens, its terraces, and of course, its driveways.
In the Build > Land and Gardens menu, you have 3 types of boundaries available:
- Garden boundaries,
- Terrace boundaries,
- Driveway boundaries
Note:
These outer boundaries create rooms without ceilings.
This is not the case if you use walls/partitions or invisible separations from the layout menu.
Follow these steps to add a driveway to your project:
Step 1: Access the "Build" Menu and 2D View
- Open your existing Kazaplan project or start a new one.
- From the main menu, click on "Build".
- Select "Land and Gardens".
- Make sure you are in 2D view to draw your driveway.
Step 2: Trace the Driveway Boundary
- Click on the "Driveway Boundary" icon in the toolbar.
- A cursor in the shape of "+" will appear in the drawing space, to the right of the menu.
- Place the first boundary point by clicking on the desired location. Be sure to stay within the grid (workspace).
- Guides will help you draw vertical and horizontal boundaries.
Step 3: Place the Subsequent Points
Place the next point by clicking a second time. You can continue to add points to define the shape of your driveway.
Tip: Don't worry about drawing each boundary with the correct length. Trace the general shape of your project, and then you can adjust the length of each side numerically by clicking on its measurement.
Step 4: Validate the Drawing
- To exit driveway boundary editing mode, you can:
- Press the "ESC" key.
- Double-click after placing your last point.
- Right-click after placing the last point.
Step 5: Close Your Driveway
- If the boundaries you've drawn form a closed area, your driveway will be created automatically.
- It will appear with a gray background, accompanied by the text "Driveway" and its area.
Add a Vehicle:
Go to the "Layout" menu > "Exteriors" > "Carports and Vehicles" to add a vehicle to your driveway.
Important Reminders:
- Remember that the origin of your plan is at the center of the modeling space, represented by a red square. Draw your project around this origin.
- Make sure to draw your project within the grid's footprint, which represents the available modeling space.
Editing Exterior Boundaries
The boundaries you've drawn are editable: you can
- adjust their length
- move: by selecting them and dragging them in 2D with your mouse or numerically.
- cut them into multiple wall sections
Edit Your Driveway
If you want to change a room, garden, or terrace that you have already drawn into a driveway, simply click on its title. The room's settings panel will open, and you can change the type and name of the room.
Tips: Managing Slopes
To create slopes in your driveway:
-
- By default, the ground floor, terraces, and gardens are modeled at level 0 relative to the grid (the lower level of your floor), with an elevation of 20 cm. You can lower their elevation by 20 cm to create slopes between your interior, terrace, or garden.
- To create steeper slopes, go to the "Floor Settings" menu to lower the grid level.

Congratulations! You have now created a driveway in Kazaplan, and you can continue customizing your project by adding specific elements to your driveway to make it unique and functional. Take advantage of this feature to design outdoor spaces that suit your needs and style.
Tip: The sedan can be found in the Layout menu > Exteriors > Vehicle.
