Do you have an existing plan that you want to use as a starting point for your project on Kazaplan? Follow this detailed guide to import, scale, and optimize the use of a background plan.

Step 1: Choose to start a global plan from an existing plan
1. Choose the global mode: Click on "Create a plan" in the main menu from a global plan
2. Choose the type of start: Select "From an existing plan".
Step 2: Insert the background plan
Choose your file in .JPG, .GIF, or .PNG formats. with a maximum size of 2500px and a maximum weight of 1 MB.
Tip: Convert PDF files to JPEG using free online solutions.
Note: It is also possible to add a background plan at any time from the modeling space.
From the toolbar, click on the "Add a plan" icon.
Step 3: Edit the display settings of the background plan
- File name: Add a clear identification.
- Visibility: Choose by level or on all floors.
- Opacity: Adjust the transparency of the background plan.
Step 4: Scale the background plan
Attention: Make sure to scale the plan.
1. A green arrow appears at the bottom of your plan. Click on the ends and place it on a reference wall.
2. In the frame in the middle of the arrow, enter the actual size of the chosen wall. (e.g., If on your imported plan, the reference wall measures 500 cm, enter 500 in the arrow frame)
Tip: You can adjust the scale of the background plan at any time, but this will not adjust your walls and partitions.
Step 5: Draw your walls on the imported plan
You can now start drawing the outlines of your project on the imported plan.
Step 6: Delete or hide the background plan
During your tracing, you can hide the imported plan but you can also delete it when the plan tracing is complete:
- Hide the background plan
- In the toolbar, click on "Add/Manage a reference plan".
- Click on the eye to hide the reference plan.
- Delete the background plan
- In the toolbar, click on "Add/Manage a reference plan".
- Click on the trash can to delete the plan.
- Reactivate the scale and settings
- Click on the file name to adjust the scale and settings.
