Once you've drawn your initial walls, it can be beneficial to divide your walls, partitions, or limits into multiple sections.
This allows you to define specific properties for them: thickness, height, textures, for example. It's also a technique to expedite your room drawings using cut/move.
Step-by-Step Guide to Cutting a Wall
To divide a wall into two distinct parts, follow these steps:
Step 1: Double-Click to Cut
1. Place yourself in 2D view
2. Double-click on the wall at the exact location where you want to make the cut.
When you hover over the cut point, an indicative angle will appear to help you visualize its location.
Step 2: Precisely Position Your Cut Point
Two options are available:
a. Move the Cut Point with the Mouse: If you prefer manual placement, it's possible to move the cut point by dragging your mouse.
b. Numerical Movement of the Cut Point: For maximum precision, select a specific dimension to move the cut point numerically.
Applications
- Using the Cut Point to Create Walls at an Angle
Once this cut point is created, you can move the cut point to create a break in the wall.
- Using the Cut Point to Create a Wall Recess
Once this cut point is created, you can move the walls to create a recess in the wall.
Example of L-shaped, U-shaped, or T-shaped room configurations.
