Creating an open space in a linear layout can allow you to place a non-integrated appliance, for example.
Create an OPEN SPACE without a countertop
The best solution is to create a complete linear layout.
At the location of the future open space, place a cabinet of the desired width.
Then delete it (when the message "You are about to remove a cabinet from the layout (...)" appears, select "Delete" and not "Delete and move")
Create an OPEN SPACE with a countertop
Add a NON-INTEGRATED DISHWASHER in a base cabinet layout
To position a non-integrated dishwasher under a countertop, you need to:
- Position a base cabinet with an integrated dishwasher.
- Perform a "replace with" of the dishwasher cabinet to an open pose space.
An open pose space includes two cheeks and a countertop.
They come in two widths: 45 and 60cm.
Watch out for the multiple cheeks: if your open space is at the end of a layout.
Tip: this open pose space can also be used to integrate a washing machine.
Create an OPEN SPACE between two columns
To integrate a freestanding refrigerator, it is common to create a column / open space + tall cabinet composition.
1st solution:
We recommend modeling a layout of 3 columns (or more) and deleting the middle column, leaving an open space: it will have the correct width of 60cm, to accommodate a refrigerator and a tall cabinet.
2nd solution:
When the space between these two columns does not match that of a column, you can also stretch a layout of 2 columns and then move one of the columns to the desired distance.
To do this, click on the column, a green outline appears. You can take it out of the layout and move it.
It is then possible to precisely determine the distance between these two elements. Click on the pencil in the context menu and open the "Position" tab.
By selecting the position of the cabinet in relation to an object, you can then specify the distance to the other column.
This method allows you to display dimensions in front view but also in 2D, unlike the method of cabinet by cabinet.
- Add wall cabinets above a column
It is possible, to optimize storage, to add wall cabinets above a column or half column, feel free to use the ALT key (windows) or FN key (iOS) to help you.
Tip: The ALT key (Windows) or FN key (iOS) suspends magnetism between objects while positioning these cabinets.
- Stack wall cabinets
It is possible, to optimize storage, to stack wall cabinets, feel free to use the ALT key (Windows) or FN key (iOS) to help you.
Tip: The ALT key (Windows) or FN key (iOS) suspends magnetism between objects while positioning these cabinets.
