The grouping of objects has been developed to move several objects so that they stay together.
It can indeed be very interesting to group chairs with a table, books with a bookcase ... and why not group parametric shapes that can be configured to create a guardrail, a claustra ... ?
The process to group your furniture is the same in 2D and 3D.
- Windows keyboard : To group furniture, click on the pieces of furniture while holding down the Ctrl key.
- Apple keyboard : To group furniture, click on the pieces of furniture while holding down the control key.
To begin, select an object:
Ex : A chair
To add an object to the group, press the "CTRL" key and select as man objects as you wish to collect:
Ex : 2 chairs
You will notice an orange circle, which represents a multi-selection but the objects are not yet grouped:
Ex : 4 chairs, a table, a light, a plant
To complete the group, click on the icon circled in red below, you will notice that the group of objects is determined by a circle and a purple shadow.
At this point you can
- move all the objects together to any room in your plan
- rotate the whole group
- raise the whole group
While remaining grouped, it is possible to go to an object of the group to modify or parameterise it by clicking on the object, the purple circle becomes clear and the object of the group is surrounded by the green circle:
It is also possible to move only one element of the group by selecting it and positioning it elsewhere, the light purple circle will change so that the moved element is still in the group:
By choosing an item from the "replace with" menu, the object will replace the other one, keeping the characteristics of the old object's position
ADD OR REMOVE AN ITEM FROM THE GROUP:
It is possible to add an extra item in the grouping of objects, select an item present in the group, then the purple circle will come to represent the group, click on the icon as in the image above and you will see a + and - appear, just click on + to add an object in the group or on - to remove one:
Ex : By clicking on the + and the carpet, the carpet was added to the group.
It is possible to group objects either in 2D or 3D, the operation remains the same:
